TCS First Class Pre-K Program

TCS First Class PreK, located at G.W. Trenholm Primary School, is dedicated to ensuring four-year-olds have access to responsive, developmentally appropriate, relationship-based learning experiences to prepare them for future school success.  Students are routinely evaluated and monitored using the Alabama Standards for Early Learning and Development (ASELD). The Alabama Standards for Early Learning and Development have been designed to support the state’s many early learning programs, as well as its early childhood students in high school, career technical schools, or higher education programs. The ASELD offers a set of shared expectations for young children’s growth and development, providing a continuum of learning for all children from birth to age 5. They lay the foundation for what children should be able to know, do, and learn at age-specific intervals. Additionally, PreK teachers utilize the GOLD Assessment to gather high-quality documentation to inform data-driven decision-making.

Registration for the 2026-2027 School year is open from January 15th to March 1st. Random selection drawing will be held on March 2nd at 3:00 at the TCS Board of Education. For more information, see the registration page on the TCS Website as well as the attachments below.
