I am married to Matthew Smith.  We have a blended family of 5 children, Brandon (our daughter-in-law, Harley), Courtney, Rebekah (our son-in-law Cody), Patrick and Mary Elizabeth.  We also have six amazing grandchildren; Strider, Seger, Wheeler, Kennedy, Shepherd and Wagner.  We live on the family farm, in a home that was built in 1901.  We are a cattle farm, but also have horses, pigs, and chickens.  We attend church at Crossbrand Cowboy Church.  I love teaching, being outdoors, horseback riding and spending time with my family.  I graduated from Lexington High School (1989).  I earned a B.S.. in Collaborative Education K-6 from Athens State University (2010).  I earned an M.A.. in Collaborative Education K-6 (2017) and Instructional Leadership from the University of North Alabama (2019).  I started my teaching career in special education in 2011.  I am passionate about helping students reach their greatest potential.
