Bio
I was born and raised in Cullman, Alabama, and moved to the Shoals area to attend UNA in 2001. My wife's name is Martha Frances. We live in Florence and have two cats named Pachelbel and Annabel Lee.
Before coming to Deshler in 2017, I taught at Florence Middle School for twelve years and at Maddox Middle School in Jasper for one year. In addition to teaching English, I've also taught a public speaking class for several years.
Two of my favorite authors are John Steinbeck and Edgar Allan Poe. There's something about Steinbeck's style of writing that I find addictive, and I can get lost in one of his novels for hours at a time. Poe? Poe's just spooky and weird, and I love it.
One of the things Martha Frances and I love to do is cook, and we've gotten pretty good at it, if I do say so myself. :)
I'm very proud to be a Deshler Tiger, and I look forward to a great school year!
