My name is Emily Kerstiens and I am extremely excited to be starting my 7th year at Deshler Middle School (8th year teaching)! I am from Florence,AL and a 2006 Brooks High School graduate. I graduated from The University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing before returning to school to pursue my true passion, teaching! While attending UNA, I was a majorette in the POD Marching Band and part of Alpha Gamma Delta.

I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2015 where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a middle school concentration in social studies and science. My MS teaching endorsements include Business Education (7-12), General Sciences (7-12), Social Studies (7-12) and Marketing (7-12). My first year teaching was completed at Poplar Springs Elementary in Meridian, MS where I taught math/science. I recently graduated from Purdue University where I obtained my Master of Science in Educational Studies with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis.
