Bio
Hi! My name is Amy Bolding, and I am excited to be the Science/Engineering teacher here at Deshler High School. In 1999, I graduated from Red Bay High School. Then, I attended UNA where I completed my B. S. Degree in General Chemistry. After completing my degree, I worked at Southern Environmental Testing where I analyzed groundwater and wastewater samples. In 2012, I attended UNA again to obtain a Master’s Degree through the Alternative A (or also known as the Fifth Year) Program and graduated in 2014. I worked at Allen Thornton Career Technical Center as the engineering instructor for five years. This is my fourth year at Deshler High School. I will be teaching Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, and the Project Lead the Way’s Engineering courses.
I have two children, Brady and Bree. Brady is seventeen years old and is in the eleventh grade. Bree is thirteen years old and is in the eighth grade. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and traveling. I am actively involved in women’s ministry at First Baptist Church in Tuscumbia, and I run occasionally in local 5K races. I am a lifelong learner and love to learn new things. I am looking forward to teaching you this year!
