Hello! My name is Grace Kennington, and I am the chorus director here at Deshler High School as well as Deshler Middle School. I grew up in Tuscumbia and graduated from Deshler where I was part of the choral program from 7th-12th grade. I attended the Universtiy of North Alabama and graduated with a BS in vocal/choral music education. While at UNA, I was a member of the Collegiate Singers, Chamber Choir, and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. I also performed in multiple opera productions including "The Face on the Barroom Floor" and "Hanzel and Gretel." After college, I taught general music at G.W. Trenholm and R.E. Thompson from 2011-2017. From 2017-2023, I worked as the Director of Worship at Tuscumbia First Methodist Church. I'm thrilled to be back at Deshler teaching music once again!

I am married to Chad Kennington who serves as the Youth and Connections Director at Tuscumbia First Methodist Church. We have three boys, Jack (age 8), Jon (age 3), and Jude (age 2). Jack is a 2nd grader at G.W. Trenholm, and we can't wait for Jon and Jude to become little tigers as well!
